Description

Class Experience

Every week, the teacher will introduce new vocabulary. As a class, we will review the vocabulary through a story, game, and/or song, and use it in context throughout the class. Finally, we will read/create our own story with the new vocabulary! Each class is self-contained but vocabulary & topics will vary week by week so you can always learn more French by taking additional classes.
There is no official homework assigned but I highly suggest completing a BINGO sheet I will provide in the classroom chat as a PDF. This sheet offers many different ways to experience the French language and culture at home. You are in charge of your own language learning! If you are taking this class, it is only 45 minutes exposure to French a week. If you choose to engage with the suggested topics on the French BINGO sheet, you will see growth in learning the language & understanding French culture! Include your parents and tell them what you are learning!
Please download the Zoom platform & use headphones/earbuds with a microphone so you can hear the teacher and respond.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
There will be informal assessments in the form of “check-ins” so the teacher knows how the students are following along. There will also be an exit quiz before we end each session so we know as a class how much we understand. The end of class will include students speaking/writing their own versions of the story we’ve read together. None of these assessments are graded, they just help the teacher and students see the language learning progress.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
