Thank you notes seem to be a lost art, as texting, phone calls, and email have taken the steering wheel in today's society. During this class, students will learn the importance of writing a thank you note, and we will discuss the following prior to developing personal handwritten thank you letters. *When should you write one? When is just saying "Thank you" maybe not enough? *Why should you write one? *What should be included in your thank you? *How will the other person feel? How will I feel? *How should I deliver my thank you note? *What will happen after the person receives my thank you letter? After the discussion, I will guide students through the specific structure of a thank you letter. They will need to have a specific person in mind before class begins, as they will be writing this person a thank you note during our time together. At the end, students will have the opportunity to share their notes with their peers and/or add any special personalized touches, such as doodles on the envelop or border of their letter.

Parental Guidance
Please help students determine who they will write their thank you letter to and why they should write them one. Also, since this class requires writing, it is important that your child is comfortable with writing complete sentences. I will assist students with some spelling, however, if students struggle with sentence structure, it will slow the class down and will not be beneficial for your child. If you are interested in a private lesson, I am always willing, so please feel free to contact me anytime.
Supply List
*1-2 Thank you note cards or lined pieces of paper (If students finish their first letter, they will be able to start a second one during class.) *Pencil and eraser *Smile and positive attitude :)
