Class Experience
Gymnast learn a level 1 balance beam routine with level 1 body shapes, balance, mount and dismount.
Coach Heather has been coaching for 14 years in gymnastics and dance. She owns her own Gymnastics business in Hemet California. Certified through USA Gymnastics and Acrobatic Arts. Coach Heather loves to see the gymnast improve with unique progressions she has learned from many different coaches and instructors throughout her years of coaching. Watching athletes achieve certain skills and be excited about accomplishing a body movement is amazing to watch!

Gymnast will need these items near learning area: *Gymnastics mat or Yoga Mat * Duct Tape---(tape line on gymnastics mat or yoga mat) *Stuffed animal (small to medium) *Low balance beam or floor balance beam (OPTIONAL) --Link listed above Recommended gymnast wear proper gymnastics attire: Girls--Leotard and gymnastics shorts or leggings. Boys--Basketball shorts and plain colored t-shirt. (No socks. No Jewelry. Hair pulled back)
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Do not use a high beam. Use tape on a gymnastics mat or a low roll away balance beam (demonstrated in video). Parental Guidance. Injury may occur if skills are performed on a high beam. Athlete may need for assistance. If movements performed on high beam athlete will need to do skills correctly to avoid injury, etc. This is a risky class because the student does not have a coach at home to work with them on proper form and technique and the potential for injury exists if on the high beam at home. Coach recommends tape on a gymnastics mat as a beam or low roll away beam to avoid injury. Parental guidance.
