All students desiring to learn digital illustration/design will NEED to have Procreate for either iPad or iPhone installed on their device. Though NOT REQUIRED, it is HIGHLY recommended that students have the official Apple Pencil if they are using the iPad, so they have access to pressure sensitivity and tilt capabilities. Some specific brushes Mr. Niven offers have advanced rendering options through blending and smearing capabilities, such as with oil paint, or watercolor brushes etc. If using the iPhone, there are a few styli that support pressure sensitivity, BUT please contact Mr. Niven FIRST so he can help assist in your purchase or questions. Depending on the class need, additional digital brushes, papers, or templates etc, may be needed. Please let Mr. Niven know, AHEAD OF TIME, which of his classes, or what personal interests, you are wanting, so he can properly prepare himself to teach your child. If your child is wanting photography lessons, they will need a camera with advanced presets as a minimum, with manual exposure control recommend.
