There are no live meetings, in order to provide the flexibility mentioned. Bryan Niven is an award-winning artist and photographer, whose creativity and skill set spans multiple areas of art and motivation. He has taught thousands of students over the years, in classroom settings and in travel workshops, in places like Arches National Park, and New York City. Although Mr. Niven has taught advanced art and photography to all ages, he loves teaching art to children, because he loves how honest and creative they are. Mr. Niven has also been asked to share his art on various occasions, by companies such as Apple and Adobe for purposes of motivating young and old alike.
Procreate is REQUIRED for all of Mr. Niven art classes classes, with the exception that your student is desiring photography lessons. It is highly recommended that your student has an Apple Pencil if they are using the iPad, which allows pressure sensitivity. However, all of Mr. Niven‘s classes can be accomplished without the Apple Pencil both for iPad and iPhone, just please let him know ahead of time so that he can prepare accordingly.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
- Procreate (iPad)
- Procreate Pocket (iPhone)
Lessons are provided through Zoom based recordings, using the official Zoom software. Zoom is video conferencing software that Outschool uses. All artwork both by Mr. Niven, and the learner will be created using Procreate, through the standard screen-sharing process built into Zoom.
This class requires Procreate for either the iPad, or iPhone. The application Procreate is available through the App Store, and is NOT subscription-based, nor does it require any type of logging in or account to access the software.
