30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Learners will begin class with a short introduction and review of class expectations and materials. We will review the biological, ecological and other characteristics of the Axolotl while learning facts about their anatomy, adaptations, life cycle and other fun facts. We will explore the presence of the Axolotl in the world around us, and view different depictions of the Axolotl, from Mexican street art to cute GIFs. Learners will have the option to choose their own color and patterns after viewing and following the instructor's outline for drawing an Axolotl. At the end of class, learners have the option to share their artwork. Learners are encouraged to bring blank paper and drawing or art supplies they are most comfortable with. A Sharpie or other black marker is helpful for outlining, while crayons, colored pencils, or markers are fine for coloring in the Axolotl.
