In this ongoing class students will meet weekly to read their favorite Pigeon stories and learn words and phrases from the story in American Sign Language.

Class Experience

This class will be an ongoing class that meets weekly for students to learn American Sign Language words and phrases while reading along to their favorite Pigeon Stories. We will read a different story each week and learners will be given a worksheet that lists the phrases and words from the story and how to sign them. We will practice signing them before reading the story. The designated stories for each week are provided in the weekly class breakdown. If your learner owns the story they can bring it to class to follow along. I will have a copy of the story and can also share the story over the screen.  
(Week of September 2nd): “ The Pigeon Finds a Hotdog ” We will practice the list of American Sign Language ASL phrases and words from the story. We will learn how to sign a favorite or funniest part of the story. We will have ASL story time and follow along with signing the story.                               
(Week of September 9th): “Don’t Let The Pigeon Stays up Late” We will practice the list of ASL words and phrases that go along with the story. We will have signing activities that accompany the story.                                  
(Week of September 16th) : “ The Pigeon  will Ride the Rollercoaster!” We will practice the list of ASL words and phrases that go with the story. We will learn how to sign a pet and favorite animal. We will have ASL story time and follow along with the Story. We will have signing activities that accompany they story and learn how to sign a favorite or funniest part of the story.             
(Week of September 23rd): “The Duckling gets a Cookie.” We will practice the list of American Sign Language words and phrases that go with the story. We will sign along to the story and have signing activities that accompany the story.

I have been studying American Sign Language ( ASL) for 14 years. I have completed a 4 year post bachelors or degree Interpreter training program and have received my certificate for Interpreter training . I have 3 years experience interpreting in an educational setting . I ran an ASL signing program at an early learning center for 1 year.
