Description
Class Experience
Students will begin to learn to communicate in American Sign Language and have a basic understanding of deaf culture.
I learned sign language from deaf friends in 1992 and have continued to be fully involved in the deaf community since. I am a sign language interpreter. I have taught my children sign language since birth. They have both been used to sign in videos for an international website. My son is an interpreter and my daughter is a sign language teacher.
Each week learners will be expected to teach someone what they learned in class. They will also be encouraged to communicate in sign language with those whom they taught.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
