Beginner - Intermediate Level
This FLEX course will help learners understand the importance of why we feed horses the way we do as well as common feeds and feeding practices. THIS COURSE HAS NO LIVE MEETINGS. Each week a recorded lesson will be delivered to the classroom along with an optional assessment. Additional carefully selected YouTube video links will be safely embedded in the classroom as well. I am a certified veterinary technician and have bred, raised, trained and shown horses for many years. I have a MEd from Colorado State University and I am now finishing up my second Master’s program and will have a Master of Veterinary Education (MVEd) from Lincoln Memorial University’s School of Veterinary Medicine by spring 2024. I have been teaching at local community colleges in veterinary Assistant Programs and a variety of Veterinary Science programs for grades 3-5, 6-8, and high school. I also teach at a private university in an equine studies program. Along with that, I am also a homeschool mom! At home, my family has 3 mini horses, 4 Nigerian dwarf goats, 9 chickens and 2 cats! I am absolutely passionate about sharing my experience and love for animals and Equine and veterinary sciences with others and look forward to helping your learner explore the possibilities! It is exciting to share my love for horses with the next generation of equestrians!
