In this class, students will learn the basics about the color wheel. Did you know that the colors on a color wheel are in a very specific order? Did you know that you can use a color wheel to create more eye-popping colors in your artwork? Learn this and more in this class! In this class students will create their own color-wheel inspired artwork. They will learn about the primary colors, secondary colors and complementary colors. Class Breakdown: Welcome and introduction Sketch of design Color design (students can use the medium of their choice- crayons, colored pencils, paint, etc.) Color wheel basics (as we color in design) Share time & clean up Conclusion & goodbye until next time!
Learning Goals
Students will:
-Demonstrate understanding of the correct order of the color wheel
-Identify the primary and secondary colors
-Learn how artists use the color wheel in their art with complementary colors
-Practice responsibility with materials and create their own art
