Teacher expertise and credentials
Texas Teaching Certificate in Music/Theater/Arts
As a music educator for 29 years, the Texas standards for music included identifying, responding and describing music from other cultures. In Texas, Mariachi is part of the state's culture. In addition, I have taught this actual lesson to students in a classroom, usually around the Cinco de Mayo holiday, including some basic facts about the holiday to make connections. I believe it will be a fun lesson to adapt for the virtual platform.
