I have an MA in Jewish Studies from the University of Indiana-Bloomington, and completed several other academic Jewish Studies and Religious Studies classes, at the graduate level. I was also raised Jewish, and I taught Hebrew/religious school for several years. Outschool is a secular platform, and this class takes an academic and secular approach to all topics.
Please bring paper, and crayons or markers to class!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
The Purim story contains potentially violent and/or scary elements, including mentions of death, hanging, etc. I do not focus on these aspects, but they are part of the story and may come up in conversation and/or the telling of the Purim story. This is a secular and inclusive class about Jewish holidays and cultural traditions. All students are welcome. No prior knowledge is required.
