I have an MA in Jewish Studies, as well as an MA in English. I have completed several additional academic Jewish Studies and Religious Studies classes, at the graduate level. I was also raised Jewish, and I taught Hebrew/religious school for several years. Outschool is a secular platform, and this class takes an academic and secular approach to all topics.
Please bring paper, and crayons or markers to each class! Some classes may have printouts.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Many folktales and holiday related stories can include potentially disturbing or frightening topics. These include but are not limited to: fighting, battles, exile, death, birth, plagues, hanging, weapons, famine, drought, monsters, oppression, slaying of babies and children and capital punishment. Although this class does not focus on violence, themes are part of many holiday stories and folktales, and may also come up in class discussion.

This is a secular, academic and inclusive class about Jewish holidays and cultural traditions. It is NOT a religious school style class! All students are welcome. No prior knowledge is required.
