I have an MA in Jewish Studies from the University of Indiana-Bloomington, and have completed several other academic Jewish Studies and Religious Studies classes, at the graduate level. I was raised Jewish, and I taught Hebrew school for several years.I understand the difference between approaching a topic from an academic, secular viewpoint, and a religious one. All students are welcome in this class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Many holiday related stories include potentially disturbing or frightening topics such as fighting, battles, exile, death, birth, plagues, hanging, weapons, famine, drought and capital punishment. I do not focus on these aspects excessively or go into gory detail, but these themes are part of many of the holiday stories, and may also come up in class discussion.

This is a secular and inclusive class about Jewish holidays and cultural traditions. All students are welcome. No prior knowledge is required. This is an ongoing class. Students may join on any date.
