What's included
1 live meeting
25 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
You will learn everything you would learn at a dolphin encounter, while dry and comfortable in your own home. This is an introductory, one-time class discussing the basics on dolphin anatomy, physiology, behavior and communication. Every topic discussed will have detailed examples, either with videos or photos, demonstrating each subject, just like meeting a dolphin in real-life! We will learn why dolphins are grey, how they make their amazing sounds, and what each fin is used for! We will go over: - Their body parts and what they're used for - Their senses and communication - Their life cycle - What they eat and how they find it (hint: echolocation!) - Typical dolphin behaviors - And lots of other super fun facts! Absolutely no prior knowledge is necessary, just excitement and passion about these odontocetes (toothed whales!). The class will be very informative, as there is a lot to learn about dolphins in just one hour. But, there will be breaks for videos, pictures, fun quizzes and time for questions and discussion! Note: This course is geared towards learners between 5 - 9. There is another Virtual Encounter for children between 9 - 14 on my course list that goes over more advanced topics.
Learning Goals
Students will learn basic, but important, facts about bottlenose dolphins.
