Hi there! In this course, we'll be learning the song Riptide by Vance Joy on the ukulele. This song is perfect for a beginner! We'll be learning the chords: C, G, AM, F. These are the easiest and most common ukulele chords... perfect for someone who has never played their ukulele before! This is a short class so I recommend the student has at least watched a few videos online of how to play the ukulele and fiddled with their own ukulele. We'll be reviewing the chords needed to play this song, the rhythm and timing of it all, strumming pattern, and more based on the needs of the class! I will provide a pdf with chords and lyrics of the song as their guide. This class is a wonderful opportunity for your child to get live feedback from a teacher while learning a new song! Please know the song before class, that way you can sing along while you play! However, singing is optional! I keep the class size small to insure that each child succeeds! *Please have your ukulele tuned before class starts!!! I do take 5 minutes out of class time to put each kid in their own "room" so I can go around and hear each kid play on their own for a little 1-on-1 teaching moment. When I'm not with the other students, they can use this time to practice what we've been working on in class. I like to be friendly and fun and encourage a love for music like I have! Music is it's own language and I want to make it as easy as possible for your kids!
