This is a discussion-based class with no formal assessment. The teacher will assess how much students have learned based on their answers to the warm-up question and close-out question, along with their participation.

Class Experience

US Grade 7 - 10
In this class, we will discuss different aspects of leadership and how teenagers can begin to develop these skills now. We will begin the class with a short discussion of what leadership means to each learner, and then we will discuss different skills that make a good leader.

Leadership skills discussed include:
- communication
- mentorship
- respect
- assertiveness
- compassion
- expertise
- humility

Students will engage in activities that apply these concepts to real-world scenarios and present how they might handle a given situation.

This class is discussion based, with some PowerPoint slides for reinforcement and activity explanation. My teaching style is to always link what the students are learning about to the real world. This makes education purposeful and useful, which means your child will never forget what they've learned!

Learning Goals

1) Students will explain five aspects of leadership.
2) Students will apply five aspects of leadership to real-life scenarios, and then discuss their reasoning.
3) Students will discuss at least one person who they consider to be a good leader and a bad leader, and explain why.
