In this engaging one-time course, learners will explore the fundamentals of leadership and how essential skills can empower them to become effective leaders. Learners will discover the key qualities of successful leaders and how these skills can be applied in both school and community settings. The goal of this course is to provide a dynamic and supportive environment for teens to develop and enhance their leadership abilities. At the end of this course, learners will be able to: -Explain the core principles of leadership and the traits that make an effective leader. -Describe the importance of clear communication and active listening in leadership roles. -Apply strategies on how to work effectively with others to achieve common goals. Learners will have the opportunity to explore these topics through mini-lectures, interactive games, discussions, and/or video clips.

Supply List
For each session, learners should have a journal/one-subject notebook, pencil or pen, highlighters, color-pencils or markers. All other materials will be provided by the instructor. Some sessions may require handouts that should be printed but not required to print prior to the session.

Throughout my career, I have held various leadership roles, including program director and executive board positions on nonprofit boards. I am a graduate of the Certified Public Manager Program, an accredited program in South Carolina through the National Certified Public Manager Consortium. Additionally, I have developed and implemented leadership development programs for both law enforcement officers and teens, equipping them to excel in formal and informal leadership roles across diverse settings.
