Le Club français avec Kim. French Club with Kim. For 9-12 year olds. This class is suitable for beginners or those who have already done some French. Please message me about how much French your child has done, as it will help me pitch the level correctly. If your child is very good at speaking and understanding French, please ask me about the Tout en français (Presque) class for learners aged 6-10. Please note this is not a French Immersion class. We speak a lot of French in class, but it is supported by explanations in English, especially when I talk about French culture or show the students around French towns. Also, when I am in France I will try to teach some classes from nearby towns, so that the learners have an opportunity to ‘visit’ (virtually) a real French town or château. We often visit a boulangerie and the learners can ask for bread and pastries in French. Please let me know if you want your child to skip these Walkabout classes and I will make the necessary arrangements. Ongoing class with songs, games, stories, conversations, rôle plays and more. W.c. 19th August. Qu'est-ce que tu as fait pendant les grandes vacances? Supported sharing of what we did in the Summer holidays. w.c. 26th August. Bachelor's Degree in Foreign Language from The University of Leeds
Hi and Bonjour from the U.K. Thank you for looking at my profile and considering my classes for your children. I love teaching here on Outschool.
I am Kim Wark. I am English. I was born and brought up in London, but moved to Leeds for university and have lived in Yorkshire ever since.
1) I offer French classes to students of all ages and levels, from 4 year olds to 18 year olds, from Kindergarten to High School level. Classes may include singing, role play, storytelling and games. I have lived and worked in France and spend most school holidays there. I am looking forward to sharing my love of French with your child. When I am in France I teach classes from local places of interest.
2) I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and French and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education to teach French and English at secondary school (ages 11-18) and all subjects at Primary Level (ages 4-11).
I also have further qualifications in Special Educational Needs, including autism.
As part of my degree course I taught English for a year in a French school. I have taught pupils aged 3-18 in schools (state, private and Special Schools), students aged 16+ at Colleges and tutored individual students. Here on Outschool I teach students from around the world.
I home-schooled my younger son, who is autistic and has learning difficulties, for 8 years. I discovered the Montessori method and it worked really well for him. I have used a Montessori approach with pupils, including those with SEND.
3) My philosophy has always been to help children do their very best. I have been privileged to teach some amazing children who have made progress beyond what was predicted for them. I was thrilled to celebrate their success with them.
4) When I was about 5 years old my mum took me to a Horse Show because our late queen, Elizabeth II, was attending. Apparently, I piped up in the loud, clear voice of a 5-year-old, 'Mummy, where is the Queen?' She was standing right in front of me, but I didn't recognise her because she wasn't wearing her crown!!! So embarrassing!!!
