These private tutoring sessions will teach students the basics of successful essay writing. They will practice outlining and writing a clear and concise response to an argumentative essay question during the session. We will read and analyze a brief passage, highlighting relevant information, before beginning the writing process. Next, we will create an outline, which we will use to draft a well-structured short essay response to a question. My teaching style is clear, direct, enthusiastic, and engaging. My goal is to equip students with the skills necessary to be a gifted writer in class next year and beyond. Additionally, I want to foster a love of writing and a sense of confidence in each student about their own unique writing style and individual voice. This tutoring has a preset curriculum. During class we review all four essay genres, but there is no work on revising outside class essays, school assignments, or admissions essays. If you would like guidance on personal projects, then please let me know. No prior experience with writing essays is required, just a basic understanding of sentence structure. Please note, no transfers or refunds granted within one week of class start date.
