Description

Class Experience

Students will develop an understanding and appreciation for the history of comedy.
My background includes many years of teaching formal history of filmmaking classes for high school and college credit. I was recently humbled and honored to be nominated and selected as a finalist for the Wallace A. Bacon Lifetime Teaching Excellence Award (NCA, Washington, D.C). I taught in the public school system in Colorado for over 40 years, and was selected as the "Best Teacher of Elbert County" for 2017 and 2018.
Learners may choose to work on their class project (slideshow) outside of the scheduled sessions. Time will also be provided in class (session two) to work on their class project.
Learners need to have access to the Microsoft Office software Powerpoint to use in the creation of their slideshow class project.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learners will be informally assessed through the sharing of their completed slideshow about their favorite comedian.
3 hours per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
