Class Experience
US Grade 4 - 12
Beginner - Advanced Level
I will cover the material on which the student requests: questions on homework, review for quizzes/exams, further explanation on certain points, individualized lessons, or guidance for the National Latin Exam and/or AP Latin Exam. These sessions are all about helping the learner understand concepts, advance, and gain confidence in Latin in a one-to-one setting. The student can come to me with his/her questions on Latin, and/or ancient history, mythology, culture, and archaeology of ancient Rome and Greece. The student will lead the discussion, and I will provide examples, assistance, and explanations. I will adjust my teaching style according to the student's individual needs and preferences. We will be a very interactive duo, and since this is a private tutoring session, the student will have access to me at all times. Pre-scheduled, asynchronous homework checks are available 1-2 times a week for students regularly registered at least once/week. A $10-$30 fee will be added to the live weekly meeting fee, depending on the number of homework checks and length of assignments. Message me for more details. These sessions are also available for beginning Latin instruction. We can follow the curriculum of a certain textbook series, or I can customize the sessions to the student's individual learning goals and needs.
Learning Goals
Students will develop, enhance, and master the fundamentals of Latin and/or Roman and Greek history, culture, archaeology, and/or mythology.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Master's Degree from Tufts University
I have taught Latin for over fifteen years to students ages eight through college level. I have used several Latin texts throughout my career including Wheelock, Ecce Romani, Cambridge, Oxford, Latin for the New Millennium, Latin for Americans, Minimus, and Jenney's. I also assist intermediate and advanced students with translating selections from Roman authors such as Cicero, Caesar, Vergil, Ovid, Horace, Pliny, Seneca, Tacitus and many others. I have worked with AP Latin students, prepped students for the National Latin Exam, and have done individual Latin tutoring since undergraduate studies. I hold an MA in Classical Studies from Tufts University.
