Description
Class Experience
This Ongoing class is ideal for learners who love language and who have at least some understanding of Latin coming into the class. Learners of various levels of Latin are welcome to attend, but should have some idea of what Latin is or how it works. Learners who are more advanced in their Latin are welcome to share their knowledge with the group as we move through our weekly topic. For example, some students might not know exactly what a declension is yet, but others could answer that...
Materials will be provided either via screen-share or as printable documents in the Classroom (posted the same day as class meetings a few hours in advance of class).
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
The ancient Romans kept slaves, and "master" / "slave" vocabulary is prominent in the Latin language. Additionally, topics of gladiator combat, the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, or other difficult facts of history may enter our discussion as related material.
