Latin Dance Classes (Ages 6-10)
In this ongoing course, we will have fun learning the Latin dances salsa and bachata as well as two new choreographies in each class.

"Inside every dancer is a beginner who fell in love..." I believe everyone can dance! Dancing has the power to build self-confidence and brighten your mood and those are two things I'd love to impart to my learners here on Outschool. The feeling of learning a new dance is truly exhilarating - at any age! We will meet for 1 hour once a week to learn the Latin dances salsa and bachata. These dances are really easy to pick up and so much fun to learn. In each class, we will spend the first half an hour on bachata and the second on salsa. So in total we will learn and practice two new choreographies in each class. Here is a breakdown of the next 4 weeks... Week of Dec 13: Salsa (We Don't Talk Anymore), Bachata (Señorita) Week of Dec 20: Salsa (Lost on You), Bachata (Kay One - Bachata) Week of Dec 27: Salsa (Shape of You), Bachata (Someone You Loved) Week of Jan 3: Salsa (Yo No Se Mañana), Bachata (Obsesión) As you can see in the class listing video, dancers need to have about 2 m2 (20 square feet) of space for safety. Learners don't need to have any prior knowledge about dancing or Latin music to participate in this class, just a willingness and desire to learn! Although it is recommended that learners have a basic understanding of rhythm and are able to clap a simple beat. If not, no worries! I also offer a one-time class where we learn all about Latin music, clapping rhythmic patterns and how to move to the music with a basic step. Parental Guidance
We will listen to salsa and bachata songs that are appropriate and child-friendly in terms of lyrics, references, etc.
Dancers need to have about 2 m2 (20 square feet) of space for safety, proper footwear, a water bottle to keep hydrated, and adequate stretching before and after the class.
Parental supervision as needed.

My name is Teacher Jem and I am from Australia. I specialize in teaching the piano, the flamenco guitar, music theory, latin dance (salsa and bachata), ESL, languages (Spanish, French), origami art and cultural diversity.
