Class Experience
There are so many good reasons to learn Latin. Latin helps students build vocabulary, a real plus when it comes to college entrance exams. Latin also helps students to lay a firm foundation before learning other languages. Students will be able to more easily launch into learning one of the romance languages like Spanish, French, Romanian, Italian, or Portuguese after taking Latin. Students will learn Latin words and increase their vocabulary and translation skills. Students will complete Stage One to Five of Cambridge Latin.
I taught Latin in a classical model school. I also have been teaching Latin for a few years on Outschool.
Students will need to study Latin vocabulary each week. They will be given online activities to use for practice. They will need to complete assigned worksheets and homework assignments out of the book. In order to progress to part 2 students need to do their homework.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:

Students will need to turn work and quizzes in if they require a grade for the class.
No live meetings, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
At times the cultural information could be a bit intense when speaking of gladiators, what the Romans thought of the after life, and Pompeii's destruction.
