Fiesta means "party" in Spanish; and, now is the time to celebrate the cultures of Latin America. Latin America makes up a significant part of our global community; it ranges from North America through Central America to South America. There are lots of wonderful things we can learn from the different cultures and countries. Each day we will learn about a new country and draw our Travel Girl in the traditional and/or popular clothing of the country. Students of different drawing abilities...
Students will enhance their world knowledge by reviewing basic facts about five Latin American countries that the Travel Girl character visits. Also, students will improve their drawing ability by using common shapes and lines to create a character.
I have traveled to more than 30 countries and lived in five countries, including Ecuador, Chile and Costa Rica. I have a BA in Sociology from UCLA in Los Angeles. I also have a Graduate Certificate in Gender Studies from USC in Los Angeles. With a combination of real life travel experiences and cultural studies in college, I am eager to share the beauty of our diverse world through drawing of my original character, Travel Girl .
1.) Color the picture drawn in class and upload to our classroom site. 2.) Complete the "Travel Girl's Diary" worksheet by writing about "a day in the life" of Travel Girl.
