In Class 5, we will build on Latin 1 (Classes 1-4) and Pre-Latin. I am introducing two new verb tenses: Future and Imperfect (which is closely related to the Past Tense in English). We will focus on learning the endings for those tenses, and practice translations using all three verb tenses: Present, Future, and Imperfect. We will also go over the new vocabulary words, and use those in our new sentences. We will practice short introductory conversational skills, and as always, talk about how Latin influences other languages to this very day! Previous knowledge of 1st and 2nd noun/adjective declensions and 1st and 2nd verb conjugations are highly recommended for this class. A good working knowledge of English grammar (parts of speech) and how they relate to Latin noun/adjective cases is also highly recommended. No outside accounts are required for this class.
Learning Goals
Students are introduced to new verb tenses, and review and practice vocabulary, sentence structure, and translations.

Bachelor's Degree in History from University of Southern Mississippi
I have a BA/MA in history and languages. I have tutored and taught Latin for almost a decade. Latin is my favorite foreign language, and I have acquired 7 languages! I always make sure to go at the student's pace. We can speed up if they learn quickly, and slow down if some of the material proves difficult.
