In this exploratory dive into one branch of the world's languages each week, we'll learn what makes that language unique! The focus will be on structures of languages and the basics of linguistics. We'll listen to audio of spoken language, and we'll see how each language is written. We will cover specific languages in Southeast Asia, South America, Europe, the Indian subcontinent, China, the Middle East, Africa, and the South Pacific. Students will learn about how all languages are related, how language develops over time, and why some languages die.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
