Language Explorer, ESL for the Intermediate/Advanced Student.

In this one-to-one ESL tutoring course, a student can expect to expand their vocabulary, grammar, writing, and conversation skills.  Topics are to be determined by students' interests, prior knowledge, and English proficiency.  Intermediate and advanced learners will learn to identify different language structures and apply them to different situations. The student will explore both spoken and written English.  All classes will be individualized for the student to meet their personal goals. I use 100% English emersion to interact with all students.  The student will be encouraged to lead the conversation, ask questions, and demonstrate comprehension.  Intermediate and advanced students will have a talk time of 50-70%. Some English background and an older student will do well in this 45-minute class. 
 
The intermediate language learner will cover grammar and spelling rule exceptions, verb tense accuracy, listening practice, comprehension, using resources to expand their vocabulary, and practice writing skills.  
Advanced learners will use writing and speaking skills at an independent level.  They will learn to identify and correct mistakes. Learn to express themselves in a way that demonstrates more critical thinking. 
We will use a variety of exercises, stories, articles, and games to accomplish the objectives for improving English. 
Topics will be aimed at the learning goals of the enrolled student.
