In these private tutoring sessions meeting 2 times weekly for 50 minutes each session, students will receive help with reading and literary analysis, finding text evidence, writing, grammar, punctuation, and/or spelling, depending on students’ needs and parents’ requests. 

As we read, we discuss the text, including vocabulary and text analysis, and discuss higher-order thinking sorts of questions. I use a graphic organizer for essay writing, as well as shorter paragraph-length responses. Sometimes learners need grammar and sentence structure support, and/or guidance in organizing their ideas. 

I get to know the students, and we may joke around a bit during classes, but this easy-going approach helps foster your child’s confidence and willingness to work. This practice is what builds mastery in language arts skills. 

If your child has school work that requires help, please share screenshots with me in advance via the communications tab; if the assignment is online work your child can always share their screen during class.
