THIS IS NOT AN IN-PERSON CLASS. In this flex class, we will learn the third-grade curriculum for the complete school year, broken into two-semester classes. Each semester is a different class with a different fee charged. The class will be relaxed and interactive. In this class, we will learn how to form sentences and recognize sentence fragments. We will venture into grammar and learn how to find nouns, adjectives, and adverbs. We will learn about linking and helping verbs. We will learn how...
The learning goal of this class is to present basic third-grade or fourth-grade Language Arts. To show the learner how to put these rules into use to form good writing habits. These basics will prepare the learner for the next grade level Language, class.
I have been a teacher for over 20 years teaching Language Art as well as various other subjects. I have a bachelor's degree in education and I am TESOL and TEFL certified. I have been teaching English classes to foreign learners for many years. I have taught in private schools for several years. I homeschool all four of my children. They are all in college or have graduated from college. I love teaching and I love helping break down lessons so that the learner can understand them without stress. I love to challenge the learner who may be more eager in their education. I do believe in homework and turning it in on time. I will keep a grade book just as if I were in a brick-and-mortar school to show the learner's progress. I don't much believe in grades, except for accountability and to help me know if the child is struggling or needs to be challenged.
Limited homework: spelling creative writing Areas of weakness may require some homework for practice.
I think for organizational purposes the learner should have a binder and loose-leaf paper. Printed work can be kept in a binder as well as writing projects.
For flex class, I will send reports on the student's progress as often as they send in the requested work.
