In this class, students will receive an introduction of 13 different topics linguists study when they look at language, language use, and the formation of words and sounds. Students will receive a notes page for each class prior to the class meet. The teacher will give students a short review activity to complete in between class meets. My name is Heather Crouse and I am excited to work with your learner. I have a BA in French and I am a licensed French teacher grades preK-12. I also have an MA in Linguistics with an emphasis on Applied Linguistics. My fieldwork and dissertation focused on hedging and repetition in speech of all female groups. I love language, grammar, and the study of people and language. I look forward to sparking an interest in your learner for linguistics as well.
