Class Experience

We will discuss the Four R's of Green Living (recycle, reuse, re-purpose, reduce) by doing our part to help reduce plastic going into landfills, conservation of water and incorporating sustainability practices. After the brief discussion, students will engage in a Hands-In-Project to apply these practices while creating their own DIY Self-Watering Bottle Garden that I will facilitate and create with them. We will sing a song I created to ensure we have all the materials we need to create the garden and encourage each other to be creative and have so much fun Growing Our Own Food.

Learning Goals

Students will understand and apply the concept of recycling, conservation, and sustainability to create a self-watering garden which will help reduce trash in the landfill and growing their own food.
