Simply practice the signs from class by showing your friends and family what you have learned!Class Experience
In this 30-minute, one-time class students will begin warming up their hands by learning our “Hello” song in American Sign Language. In this class we will pretend our dear friend Ladybug has been awake all night trying to prepare for her picnic, she is just too tired to finish the work, so we will join together to help her prepare the food! We will learn beginner ASL vocabulary for a variety of foods, as we sing & sign along together to two fun food-themed songs. We will take turns answering simple questions in ASL and play a short signing review game before we read our book entitled “Ten Little Ladybugs”, where we will learn the numbers 1-10 in ASL! We end our class learning to sign our “Goodbye” song together. A wonderful joy-filled class, set at an easy pace for young beginners looking to learn & build a strong ASL vocabulary foundation. No experience needed, just a desire to learn American Sign Language!
Learning Goals
Students will learn a “Hello” and “Goodbye” song, enjoy adorable puppets and pretend play, learn two complete songs all about food, hear a fun story and learn to count from 1-10 all in American Sign Language!
