Class Experience

Bonjour! This class is an introduction to the French language for young learners. We will cover French family vocabulary such as how to say (big/small) family, mother, father, sister, brother, grandmother, grandfather, dog and cat. We will also expand on this vocabulary by learning how to say "I have a ____", and "his/her name is____."

This interactive class will be taught using visuals/props, repetition and voice variation, and google slides. We will also play I-spy throughout the class to help learners review what they've learned in a fun way! Learners are invited to bring a family picture or a picture of a family member if they would like.

Students will have the opportunity to speak throughout the session, so a microphone is recommended. There may be times in the class where all learners are muted so that everyone can hear the lesson well. This one-time class is for beginners, so don't worry, you don't need to speak any French at all to join! I hope to see you soon!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! Bonjour! My name is Michele Kujawa and I love teaching languages. I grew up in a bilingual household (German + English) and starting learning French at school as a child. I have traveled a lot in my life and completed several summer French immersion programs to improve my French. I am grateful for the experiences and opportunities being multi-lingual has brought me and I'm excited to help get young learners started in their language learning journey. I live in Ontario, Canada and have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in French and German from Western University. I have taught French for over 17 years at the high school level and currently also teach English as a Second Language online to young learners. I am also the mom of 3 energetic boys!

In addition to teaching and learning languages, I also am passionate about music and have been singing most of my life! I love incorporating music into my lessons. I also love skiing in the winter, especially with family and staying active outdoors. I love being in nature, swimming, Crossfit, traveling and gardening.

I believe language learning should be fun and I strive to keep students engaged during class through games, songs, visuals, props and by making the learning relevant to students. I look forward to having your child in my class!
