Does your child like airplanes? How about pizza, boats, dinosaurs, insects, or robots? In this class for beginner to intermediate Spanish students, children hear whole language in context, have an opportunity to repeat and use it in class, and walk away recognizing new words and phrases. In each class, we will follow this general pattern, focused on that week's theme: 1. Practice forming the week's letter and/or theme with our hands and/or bodies. 3. Sing a related song or say a rhyme or chant. 4. Share experience, knowledge, or ideas about the theme. 5. Read a book or listen to a story. 6. Engage in a follow-up activity, such as a drawing, game, or craft. The following are the themes by week: Spring Semester 2022: January 4 - D: Dinosaurio/ Dinosaurs January 11 - I: Insectos/ Insects January 18 - T: Trenes/ Trains January 25 - U: Unicornios/ Unicorns February 1 - S: Serpientes/ Snakes February 8 - B: Barco/Boat February 15 - A: Avión/ Airplane February 22 - P: Pizza March 1 - BREAK March 8 - C: Carros/ Cars March 15 - R: Robots March 22 - E: Elefantes/ Elephants March 29 - F: Familia/ Family April 5 - M: Monstruos/ Monsters April 11 - L: Leones/ Lions April 18 - V: Volcanes Fall Semester 2021: Week of August 8, 2021 - A: Avión/Airplane Week of August 15, 2021 - I: Insectos/ Insects Week of August 22, 2021 - B: Barco/ Boat Week of August 29, 2021 - P: Pizza Week of September 5, 2021 - O: Océano/ Ocean Week of September 12, 2021 - T: Trenes/ Trains Week of September 19, 2021 - N: Noche/ Night Week of September 26, 2021 - S: Serpientes/ Snakes Week of October 3, 2021 - U: Unicornios/ Unicorns Week of October 10, 2021 - C: Carros/ Cars Week of October 17, 2021 - BREAK Week of October 24, 2021 - M: Monstruos/ Monsters Week of October 31, 2021 - L: Leones/ Lions Week of November 7, 2021 - D: Dinosaurios/ Dinosaurs
