Class Experience
Reading fluency is one of the key pillars of success in reading. When a reader becomes fluent they are able to decode words and focus their attention on the meaning of a reading passage. But, building reading fluency takes time, as we truly build reading fluency by re-reading the same text over and over again. One way to build reading fluency that is fun is by singing karaoke! Students will work toward building reading fluency.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
While singing nursery rhymes is fun, we want to advance students past songs that they have memorized. Songs that are chosen will be edited versions that are appropriate for students but some parental guidance is advised.
