Class Experience

From just learning the basics of Krita, you can already draw, paint and even animate! I will show you tips on how to set up the work space for the best work flow and ease of use. I can show you shortcuts like clipping masks so that you don't have to worry about dodging your outlines when you color in your line drawings. After showing you the very basics, we can play around with Krita and students can ask me questions on how to navigate the app.

Keep in mind that I specialize in drawing, digital painting and 2D frame-by-frame hand-drawn digital animation.

It is highly recommended that you're using Krita on laptop or desktop, and with a graphics tablet such as a Wacom, Huion, XP Pen or anything similar.
Learning Goals
Learn just the basics, enough to get you started and be able to complete basic projects such as drawings, simple paintings and animations.

Parental Guidance
Krita is an app/software that can be downloaded for free. It is a tool used for drawing, illustration, general image editing and animation. It is appropriate for all ages.
Supply List
- laptop or desktop
- graphics tablet that hooks up to device (like a Wacom, XP-Pen or Huion)
*Screenless tablets can cost around $80 or less
*Screen tablets can cost $200 to over $600

- decent internet connection
- Krita (download for free)

It's usually a good idea to have 2 screens -- one tablet screen and the laptop/desktop's screen or monitor. One screen can be used for the student's work space, the other can be used to watch the instructor's demonstrations. If the student is using a screenless tablet like a Wacom Intuos, having 2 monitors for a similar setup is recommended.
