Korean Language Exploration: Introducing Myself (K-Pop Lovers Welcome!)
In this 7-week beginner Korean online course, students will learn to introduce themselves using name, age, country, family, and likes and dislikes. They will also learn basic greetings in Korean.
Class experience
Sometimes it’s hard to know where to start when learning a language. I get that. My classes aim to meet the students where they are and create a personalized experience with them. In this 7-week class of 45 minutes each, we will explore the basics of Korean with the goal of being able to introduce oneself. This class is taught in English.
At the end of the course, students will be able to apply their learning to introduce themselves in Korean with their name, age, what country they are from, who their family is, and their likes and dislikes. They will also be able to write their name in Hangul and read some Hangul.
I have studied Korean for 5+ years. In 2022 I took the Test of Proficiency in Korean and got a score of 6 (highest level possible is 6), with reading and listening scores 100/100. I have been teaching Korean since 2020.
Homework Offered
Homework will be assigned based on student request. However, homework will generally involve making charts, completing online activities, or making recordings. Homework should not take more than 30 minutes per class.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
This course incorporates a final project where students make a recording of their own self-introduction in Korean. Students are encouraged to post this recording to a Flipgrid that will be available to all students in the same course. This Flipgrid will be deleted a week after class ends.
