In this one-time class, students will learn to knit a stitch pattern called the "simple seed." This is different from the seed stitch! This class will be taught as a workshop. Mrs. Borton will demonstrate how to do the stitch pattern, and students will then practice and learn the pattern. A written pattern will be provided for students to print and have available before class. **PLEASE NOTE - This class is intended for students who have already completed a basic knitting class such as...
Students will improve their knowledge and skills in knitting by learning a new stitch pattern.
Mrs. Borton has run an after-school knitting club at her school where she has taught hundreds of students how to knit. Mrs. Borton also taught knitting and crocheting at a local craft store.
Students will want to finish the stitch pattern on their own after class.
A one-page pattern will be available for the first session. Students should print the pattern before class. Students will need the following: 1. a pair of knitting needles in a size 8 or 9. 2. a skein of yarn in a size 4 or 5. Yarn should be a smooth yarn in acrylic, wool, or an acrylic-wool blend 3. a pair of scissors
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students will be using scissors and knitting needles. Younger students may need guidance.
