In this one time course, I will teach and describe some basic kitchen safety rules. During class we'll start with a short introduction, then we'll dive into the course. I will teach by leading discussion with the group and using a few examples so students can practice these safety tips if they choose. During this course we will discuss the following topics: Kitchen Hygiene and Sanitation Knife Safety Fire Safety Cooking and Cooling Safety Question and Answer Session This class is perfect for a newbie or reluctant cook in the kitchen. Sometimes the best way to reduce fear is to provide a safe space to use the things that scare us! It will be a good foundation for lifelong success in the kitchen. I will provide several documents for reference on these topics. I prefer to have open ended discussion where students feel safe to ask questions, so you will not find an all mute class here!

Parental Guidance
During class students will hear about various safety topics including knife safety, if desired students may bring a chef's knife to class to practice hand grip and cutting techniques.
Supply List
During class I'll be doing a knife demonstration on how to hold knives, make knife cuts, etc, If your learner would like to bring a chef's knife, cutting board, damp rag or damp paper towel, and a small fruit or potato to practice proper form, I would encourage that! Practice makes progress!
