Welcome to Swahili Immersion Class. In this class, students will learn the basic fundamentals of Swahili pronunciation before proceeding to reading, writing and spoken language. The class is designed to help the student hold a conversation in Kiswahili, ask and answer questions, count, tell time, ask for direction, conjugate verbs, Nouns in singular and plural and much more. Swahili starts with learning Silabi (Syllables) and Nafsi before moving to the nouns, verbs, adjectives and reading in sentences. Speaking in Kiswahili is encouraged during class, to improve language skills. There will be homework after each class but it should not take more than thirty minutes. Example: Q: What time is it? (Ni saa ngapi?) A: It is 7am. (Ni saa moja asubuhi) Q: Where is the shop? (Duka iko wapi?) A: Turn left and go one block? ( Upande wa kushoto, bloki moja) Q: Habari! Jina lako ni nani? (Hello, What is your name?) A: Mzuri, Jina langu ni Musa. (Hello, My name is Musa.) Teacher expertise and credentials
This class is taught by Winnie. She has a Bachelor of Education in Kiswahili Language and Geography. Winnie is a Swahili Teacher who has been recognized and won several awards. She is fluent in several languages (multi-lingual) and has led and won debates in Swahili internationally.
