Class Experience

Let’s go on an adventure together! No better way than to dive into a fun book. In this class, we will read Book One of The Kingdom of Wrenly: The Lost Stone by Jordan Quinn.

Will Lucas and Clara be able to find the precious jewel and claim the king’s reward?

In each class, we will be reading and discussing the story “The Lost Stone”
Each student is required to have their own copy of The Kingdom of Wrenly: The Lost Stone to follow along with each class. If you do not own this book check your local library, or the book may be purchased from ThriftBooks, The BookOutlet or Amazon.

This session will run for 3 weeks with 2 classes each week. Each class will consist of reading chapters from the book and ending the session with the last class being a book project. Each class with the exception of the last class 2 chapters will be read by myself and any student willing to read. Any student willing to read a portion of the chapters each lesson may either message me before class or send a message before class begins. I will make a list of each student that would like to read aloud to the class. Each class will provide each student a chance to practice reading out loud in front of a small group. We will also take time to discuss plot twists, uncommonly used words, larger vocabulary words, as well as student-led discussions.
The project for the class is optional but a fun addition to close out our fun with book 1! Each student can decide on a project to complete and show off to the class. The project could be designing your own map for Wrenly, creating your own cover for the book, or creating a drawing of something you enjoyed from the story.

In order for this to be a successful book club, I ask that each student:
•	Be Respectful (One speaker at a time, no interrupting, Respect each other’s ideas)
•	Speak clearly and loud enough for everyone in the group to hear you.
•	Stay on topic of the book.
•	Ask Questions and add to the conversation!

Each class will consist of:
5 minutes of Welcoming – 15 minutes of Discussion & Read Aloud Time – 10 minutes of closing discussion and questions related to the story.

Class 1: Chapters 1 and 2
Class 2: Chapters 3 and 4
Class 3: Chapters 5 and 6
Class 4: Chapters 7 and 8
Class 5: Chapters 9 and 10
Class 6: Work on a book project and share with the class

Teacher expertise and credentials
Welcome to my classroom! I am so excited that you have stopped by, and thank you for considering me as a possible teacher for your student!

I am a homeschool mom and absolutely love being part of the process of teaching little ones. I believe that learning should be fun and something that never stops but that continues during all our lifetime.
I am a big advocate for reading to children as much as possible. It's amazing how much children can learn simply by reading to them on a regular basis. Children who are read to often will become better readers, spellers, and learners!
I have 20+ years of experience working with children ages birth to 18. All this experience came from owning and operating a childcare center for my local public school teachers, youth groups, preschool groups, and of course from being a very involved homeschooling mom!

My teaching style is relaxed and fun. I would like to provide an atmosphere that is welcoming and enjoyable. I will be offering multiple classes that offer students different learning options for reading, drawing, movement, and more!

Something I hope that each child takes away from one of my classes would be that they had FUN and learned something even when they might not have realized it!
