Class Experience

US Grade 5 - 8
This biology class is dedicated entirely to the kingdom fungi. Mushroom enthusiasts and field collectors will have a blast as we examine the intricate complexity of these organisms as well as their huge diversity. Learners will create infographics to learn the parts of a mushroom, their life cycle and will participate in class discussions and projects.

Our science classes are very interactive. We present content with visually appealing presentations that include an abundance of real life images. We also encourage students to make comments and remain engaged throughout the presentation.

Reading materials and handouts will be provided.

We welcome learners who wish to join at any point during the program! Our supportive environment ensures a smooth transition, so new learners won’t feel left behind. We provide additional guidance to help them catch up and fully engage with the material. Plus, since the program restarts upon completion, every learner will have the opportunity to experience the full curriculum.

Learning Goals

Identify and Describe Mushroom Structures – Students will learn to recognize and label the key parts of a mushroom, understanding their functions within the fungal life cycle.
Explain the Life Cycle and Ecological Roles of Fungi – Learners will analyze the stages of fungal development and discuss the essential roles fungi play in ecosystems, such as decomposition and symbiotic relationships.
