If it isn't already obvious, I love King Lear. In fact, my oldest child was named after one of the characters in King Lear (*NERD ALERT*). In my college years, I studied King Lear with a professor who took a similar approach to teaching Shakespeare. After reading through King Lear 3 times in such a short period of time, I felt a love and understanding for Shakespeare that I hadn't experienced before. Like most great works of art, King Lear gets better the more that we are exposed to it. So with more exposure to King Lear, our appreciation for it will expand and consequentially so will our appreciation for Shakespeare.
A copy of King Lear is required. You can find one here for free, http://shakespeare.mit.edu/lear/full.html, though I do recommend having a paperback copy on hand.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
King Lear contains violence. If your learner chooses to watch a production of King Lear, it very likely will be gory.
