Description
Class Experience
Speaking confidently, Using words as an outlet, learning healthy and unhealthy outlets, discovering emotions behind various forms of storytelling (dance, singing, writing), exercises to prepare for public speaking, patience and courtesy when someone is speech-giving, and ease in self-expression.
Students will choose subjects to speak about in the next class, may be asked to find a simple prop or costume if they would like, will be asked to review their favorite book in order to summarize it in a speech, draw a picture as another form of self-expression and storytelling, and decide on a How-To skill they can teach the class (like brushing teeth, baking something, or washing hands).
It will be assessed in class by their progress with public speaking.
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
We will sometimes watch age appropriate animated videos in order to encourage discussion.
