Semester Class: (10 weeks) (3x a week) *Students must be able to identify letter names and sounds* Fundations Phonics Lessons (K-1st) During this class your students will learn the fundamentals and foundations of letters names and sounds as well as how to blend those grapheme sounds together for reading basic CVC(consonant, vowel, consonant) words that will set them up to be successful readers! This class is taught in English.
Students will receive foundational skills in phonics, phonological awareness and phonemic awareness. Students will be able to encode and decode CVC and Digraph words. Students will be able to blend and segment CVC and Digraph words thus setting them up to be successful and emergent readers.
I will have a take home phonics worksheet/activity for each student to work on for extra practice after our class together. This will provide parents and students another chance to practice student's reading skills to ensure each child's success.
