Description
Class Experience
In this class, young writers will learn that writing is a way to express thoughts on paper. The children will work productively during class and generate topics, plan writing, and record their thoughts on paper. The goal is to teach the writing process by first drawing a picture and then moving on from drawing to phonetics to sounding out words. Students are motivated because the can choose a topic that is important to them. We will share our writings with our classmates!

Students will label their pictures using letter-sound correspondence 6. Students will create a pattern book 7. Students will use the alphabet chart to help them with their writing
I have taught kindergarten and have over 20 years experience teaching Writers Workshop. I have received training and completed TCRWP writing study. I have tutored students in writing online and in person.
Writers will bring paper, a pencil, and colored pencils.
35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
