Description
Class Experience
In this lesson students will be learning a variety of early literacy and reading skills. We will be working on letter recognition, letter sounds (phonics) and blending letter sounds (phonemes). They will be developing an awareness of the sounds of language, awareness of print and the relationship between the sounds and letters. We will also be learning sight words and creating simple sentences using sight words. The students will look at short stories and poems to identify the sight words...
The students academic learning goals will be early literacy and reading skills. They will learn the letters of the alphabet, the sounds of the letters and the spelling of sight words.
Students may be asked to use pencils, paper, magnetic letters, small white boards with dry erase markers, or manipulative to build letters.
1 hour 40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
