$$$$$$$$$$$$ Use coupon code: MCGRAM8FLV5 to get $ off ANY first class with me $$$$$$$$$$$$$ This code expires June 2024 In this small class we will go over skills children need to know when entering Kindergarten. I will welcome each child and make them feel special in some way. My goal is for each child to learn, love learning, and not be afraid to ask any question (children typically don't have that issue). This is only a 25 minute class, so it's extremely important students know how to mute and unmute themselves or have a parent helping them the first few classes. This allows each student to get the most out of class. I will offer interactive moments from time to time so they can interact with each other during a lesson also. *******For Summer session: I cover all letters and handwriting beginning in June. We will touch on numbers 1-10 as well****** **********I will go through all letters and letter sounds in the fall/winter semesters. In the winter/spring semesters, I will start building the foundations for reading cvc (consonant vowel consonant words like cat, dog, hat etc.).************ I teach to each student. I challenge each student at their level. Even though this is a group class, we all learn differently. It's important to learn each student and teach to them. Some students may be asked to complete additional tasks, but this is because they are ready for those tasks. Some students may need more simplistic tasks. I will assign tasks according to the child's skill level. The class will go as follows: - Welcome and chat time: Welcome everyone and allow everyone to share something exciting they did. Young children love to talk and chat, which helps with language and socialization. - Language and Phonics: We will go over letters and sounds. We will find things or think of words that have this sound. We will practice writing letters in words with capitals and lower case. - Number skills - Wrap up and Goodbye Students will also learn to raise their hands and wait their turn. These are great skills to prepare children for an in person Kindergarten class. Many of these concepts will be taught through song as children learn best with song and repetition. We will also work on various hands-on tasks to reach each learning style possible. We will work a lot with writing, and sensory items like play-doh or craft sand (or sugar is a great substitute). Again, please note this class will start in August beginning with a letter each week. By December, we will have learned all of our letters and will transition to spelling and reading by January. ***NOTE** This class will cycle over starting in August if students are enrolled. Please read class description carefully.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree from Middle TN State University
Hello. I have been teaching for over 20 years. I have experience teaching children from pre-k through 10th grade. I have a Bachelors Degree in Child Development and Family Studies, and a minor in Education. I have been married for 18 years. My husband and I have 3 children ages 15, 13, and 11. I currently homeschool our children, and have since my oldest started Kindergarten. I teach various classes and subjects at our local homeschool tutorial.
Since I homeschool our children, I have experience in all subject areas and learning styles. It's so important for teachers to teach subjects to all learning styles, not just one. In my classes, I use various tools and techniques to accomplish this task.
I teach various classes such as English, Phonics, Reading Comprehension, Math, Science, Social Studies, cooking, crafts, sing and learn, and much more. I look forward to having your child in class.
Just a little personal information: On June 1st, 2022 I had a kidney transplant and my amazing husband was my donor. During the summer of 2022, I have my schedule posted, but please bare with me as I navigate through many appointments. I feel better than I have felt in years. So I'm so excited to get back in the classroom. I just want my lovely students and their families to know my situation and I'm thrilled to share my story when appropriate. If you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks for thinking of me.
